BALTIMORE, MD (February 8, 2010) – Blue Sky Factory, an industry leading email service provider (ESP), today announced the addition of Chris Penn to the company's management team. Penn, a marketing and new media leader with 17 years of experience in the online industry, joins the team as the vice president of strategy and innovation. In this new role, Penn will oversee the company's marketing efforts, add insight and direction to strategic product development, and work closely with clients to make the most of their email marketing strategy and overall campaigns.
"Chris Penn's knowledge, leadership, and enthusiasm around the combination of marketing & technology is nothing short of impressive," said Greg Cangialosi, CEO of Blue Sky Factory. "Chris is always pushing the envelope. Not only will he be an asset to the Blue Sky Factory team, but he will also add value to our clients' overall marketing initiatives."
As the co-founder of the PodCamp New Media Community un-Conference and co-host of the popular Marketing Over Coffee marketing podcast, Penn has an extensive background in marketing and community development. Blue Sky Factory clients will be able to leverage his experience and work with him to better their email campaigns as it relates to their strategy, communication, and social integration.
"I half-joke that I'm a professional juicer. John Wall, my Marketing Over Coffee co-host, often talks about ways that companies can get more juice from the squeeze when it comes to marketing. In that vein, I like to think of myself and what I have to offer as a professional juicer, helping Blue Sky Factory's team and clients get more juice out of the great work they're already doing," said Penn.
As a leader in the new media industry, Penn has been called upon for expert information by the Congressional Advisory Committee on Student Financial Aid, the FBI, and the US Department of Health and Human Services. He is an adjunct professor of Internet marketing at the University of San Francisco and the lead subject matter expert and professor of Advanced Social Media at the University of San Francisco. He has been featured in publications including the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times, Business Week, and US News & World Report, as well as on television networks including PBS, CNN, CNBC, and ABC News.About Blue Sky Factory:
